On November 5th, a delegation led by Mr. Ceferino S. Rodolfo, Undersecretary of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Ms. Myca Fischer, Consul General of the Philippines in Shanghai, paid a visit to Guodong Group. Lu Jie, Chairman and President of the Group, Hu Longke, Vice President of the Group, General Manager of the International Department and President of the International Company, and other leaders received the delegation.
On the morning of the 5th, after visiting the office area of the Group's headquarters, the two sides held a friendly discussion and exchange. Chairman Lu Jie extended a warm welcome to the delegation, focusing on introducing Guodong's development status, the "One Body, Two Wings" business layout, as well as the "Three-Step" and "Going Global" strategic plans. He also expressed sincere gratitude to the Department of Trade and Industry and the Embassy for their support and assistance in promoting Guodong's business in the Philippines. The Undersecretary of the Department of Trade and Industry stated that the Philippines welcomes Guodong to participate in the construction of local communication infrastructure, and looks forward to the cooperation between the two sides further improving the coverage and service quality of the Philippines' communication network and injecting new impetus into the local digitalization process. The Consul General pointed out that China-Philippines economic and trade cooperation is becoming increasingly close, and the Consulate General will continue to support Chinese enterprises such as Guodong Group in conducting compliant operations in the Philippines, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. The two sides also discussed and exchanged views on cooperation in relevant potential fields.
Subsequently, the delegation will visit Guodong's East China (Nantong) Equipment Manufacturing Base.
The in-depth exchange between Guodong Group and the Philippine delegation is a vivid embodiment of practicing the "Belt and Road" Initiative and deepening pragmatic cooperation between China and the Philippines. As a backbone force in China's private communication infrastructure sector, Guodong has actively laid out its presence in the Southeast Asian market, demonstrating the responsibility of Chinese enterprises in promoting regional connectivity and contributing to the construction of the Digital Silk Road. It also contributes corporate strength to building a closer China-Philippines community with a shared future.
